Nmezi Princewill Chimeremeze, professionally known as Lavida Kelly, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and former music producer known for his contributions to the Afrobeats music scene. Born on 19 April 1999 in Isiala Mbano, Amauzari, Imo State, Nigeria, Lavida Kelly gained recognition through his unique vocal delivery, catchy melodies, and inspirational musical journey.
He is best known for songs such as “Turn Me On,” “Free Me,” “Caro Call Me,” and “Make Am in Life.”
Early Life and Background
Lavida Kelly was born on 19 April 1999 in Isiala Mbano, Amauzari, located in Imo State, Nigeria. He was born into the family of Ogoke Sampson Nmezi and Priscilla Nmezi. His father worked as a teacher, while his mother managed a restaurant business to support the family.
He is the fifth child in a family of seven children, consisting of four girls and three boys. Lavida Kelly practices Christianity and hails from Imo State in southeastern Nigeria.
He later relocated to Awka, Anambra State, where he currently resides and continues to pursue his music career.
Education
Lavida Kelly studied Business Administration at Federal Polytechnic Nekede. During his time in school, he developed a strong passion for music and music production. Although his father encouraged him to focus primarily on academics, Lavida Kelly chose to follow his creative ambitions and pursue a professional career in music.

Lavida Kelly’s journey into music began with a deep passion for entertainment and inspiration from legendary Nigerian artists. Growing up, he admired influential Afrobeats icons such as Don Jazzy, 2Baba (formerly known as 2Face Idibia), and Davido. Their success and impact on the Nigerian music industry motivated him to pursue a career in music.
Before becoming a recording artist, Lavida Kelly started as a music producer. At the age of 19, he began experimenting with music production while studying at Federal Polytechnic Nekede. By the age of 22, he had acquired his own music equipment and started producing beats independently.
While producing and recording background vocals for other artists in school, he discovered his talent for songwriting, vocal delivery, and creating catchy hooks. This realization inspired him to transition from music production into performing and recording his own songs.
In 2020, after relocating to Awka, Anambra State, Lavida Kelly officially launched his professional music career with his debut single, “Make Am in Life.”
